What is Data Synchronization?

As defined by the Global Commerce Initiative, Global Data Synchronization is: "The continuous harmonization of data attribute values between two or more different systems, with the end result being the data attribute values are the same in all of the systems."

What is CGS?   

Commport Communications International, inc. has been actively tracking paperless work environments for over twenty years through the provision of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Electronic Commerce (EC), data warehousing and complete Customer Care facilities. Commport offers data synchronization services through the recently re-branded Commport Global Synchronization (CGS) Datapool Services, formerly PAINT as a GDSN Certified Data Pool. GDSN taps into the full potential of automating processes between retail organizations and manufacturers, a natural step in the progress of the supply chain and Commport`s corresponding services. CGS Datapool Services offers the opportunity to integrate and automate Data Synchronization with Retailers’, Distributors’ and Suppliers’ environments through simple standard solutions or completely customized work flow process.

What is GDSN?

The Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) is a network of interoperable data pools and the GS1 Global Registry for communicating data, such as Catalogue Item and Party information, between trading partners.

Global Data Synchronization is a means of synchronizing data through the use of global standards. The goal is to reduce costs throughout the supply chain by eliminating errors in data alignment between trading partners, reducing supply chain inefficiencies, and ensuring accurate data in transactions. The standards have been laid out by GS1 in cooperation with manufacturers, suppliers, service providers and retailers in many industries.
